We need more coaches!  Why not have fun and make a difference in your child's life by volunteering your time and coaching his/her team?  We will provide you free training!  Do you want to apply to coach or assistant coach a Recreational Soccer Team?  Then read on!

 

SPECIAL NOTE:  If you have already filled out a coaching form for this 2008 season, we need you to download the new form (League is rejecting the older forms we previously provided you with ...) fill it out, print it x3, sign it x3 with a blue pen, and mail it into the club's PO Box.

Apply to be a soccer coach:

Fill out and mail us the CYSA Coach and Team Management Form   ASAP. Fill out the form, print 3 copies, and sign them with a blue ink pen.

You will be notified after Team Formation in mid-June as to whether or not you have been assigned a team.

New for 2008!  EDYSL has it's own coach training program, delivered by the EDYSL Academy.  These courses are focused on providing coaches age group appropriate, practical and useful training. 

 

The following coach license requirement are enforced for recreation teams:

U6	EDYSL U6 Coach Diploma
U8	EDYSL U8 Coach Diploma
U10	EDYSL U10 Coach Diploma
U12-U19	EDYSL U12+ Coach Diploma & CYSA F License

For the third year-in-a-row we will be playing our U-6 games in a "small-sided" 3V3 format, with no goalies.  Please refer to three files in the Download area that will explain how those games will operate.  The main benefits to this program is first to increase the number of player touches, and second, have less players on the field to minimize bunching up.

For the first time, we will be playing our U-8 games in a "small-sided" 5V5 format, with a team roster of 7 or 8 players.  Teams will utilize a goalie in a 5x10' goal.  The main benefits to this program is to increase the number of player touches on the ball.
