NEW REFEREES
Sierra Gold Soccer Club is always looking for new referees, adults as well as youths, for both our recreation and comp soccer programs. SGSC is committed to making the referee experience as rewarding as the playing experience. We are continually working to ensure support and resources for our new referees.
2024 Referees -
First Time Grassroots Referees, through the US Soccer Learning Center:
1) Must be 13 years or older at the time of registration
2) Complete the 3 online courses and pass the Grassroots Referee Quiz
3) Attend a field session
SGSC Field session - July 13th at 9:00 AM (course registration open July 1st).
4) If 18 years or older, you must pass the NCSI Background Check, issued every 2 years
Sierra Gold Soccer Club will reimburse the cost of the course to you at the end of the fall season if you officiate a minimum of 10 games within the club.
RETURNING REFEREES
The CNRA has changed from their Grade 8 license to a new US Soccer Grassroots license.
Re-certifying Grassroots Referees completing registration through the U.S. Soccer Learning Center must complete the following requirements:
1) Must be 13 years or older OR held a Grade 8 license for at least one year and within the last 3 years.
2) Complete the 3 online courses and pass the Re-certifying Quiz
3) If 18 years or older, you must pass the NCSI Background Check, issued every 2 years
All returning SGSC referees need to attend the annual field refresher session with SGSC after registering to referee with SGSC for 2024.

Referee Uniform
A referee kit with green jersey and additional black jersey are recommended for reffing with SGSC.

Referee Pay Scale
Pay for Tournaments and Training will be less because of reduced game times and added teacher time. For U8AR training, pay will be $12.
